Ingredients:
1 pound | ground pork pork (ground chicken or turkey is ok too) |
1 package | wonton wrappers |
2 | chopped green onions |
1 package | broccoli cole slaw mix (can be found in produce section) |
3 tablespoons | soy sauce |
1 tablespoon | fish sauce |
2 teaspoons | salt |
1 teaspoon | black pepper |
1 teaspoon | ground ginger |
1 1/2 teaspoons | garlic powder |
1 1/2 cups | chicken broth |
3 tablespoons | oils (any kind is fine) |
2 | eggs |
3 teaspoons | fresh cilantro (dry is fine too) |
Directions:
1 Chop green onions
2 Add chopped green onions, cilantro, and package of slaw mix to mini chopper or food processor and chop until fine
3 In a large bowl mix ground pork, veggie mix, one egg, spices, soy and fish sauce.
4 Refrigerate mixture 10-15 minutes
5 Beat egg with a touch of water to seal wontons
6 Add about a tbsp of mixture to center of wonton. (i used the large end of a melon baller and it was the perfect amount) Trace edges of wonton with egg wash. Fold corners of wonton to make a triangle and seal wrapper.
7 Heat oil in a large frying pan. Since there will be a lot pot stickers, you may need to use more than one pan. (or repeat steps 8-11 if they do not all fit into one pan)
8 Place pot stickers into pan (as close as possibly without letting them touch) and let fry over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until bottom is golden brown.
9 Slowly add 1/2 cup of chicken broth. Cover, and let steam for 5 minutes, or until most of the broth has evaporated.
10 Add the rest of the broth and let simmer until all broth is gone. (about 10-15 minutes)
11 Remove from pan and serve hot with desired dipping sauce. These may stick to your pan a little, but there's a reason they're called Pot Stickers.
