I absolutely love this program and don’t know what I would do without it. I had so many cookbooks, but no time to search through them to look for new recipes. Since I got Cook’n I’ve gone through almost all of them and put recipes that I think I might like to try into Cook’n. The cookbooks then went to Good Will. Except for the Betty Crocker Cookbook and the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook I got when I was first married 48 years ago. I felt like I was in a rut making the same things over and over again. Now I will often try a couple of new recipes in a week. My husband loves that. Tonight I made Kraft’s Layered Fiesta Casserole. It was a real hit. I made a few changes which I noted in the recipe for the next time I make it. I have also arranged all of my recipes into Cookbooks for “Appetizers”, “Asian”, “Beverages”. “Breads” , etc. This way I don’t have to search every Cookbook, but can look in a specific cookbook for what I want to make. For example, tonight I wanted to make Mexican so I went to my cookbook named Tex-MeX and then to the chapter for Beef Casseroles. I love the way Cook’n can be personalized this way.

I purchased this program because I wanted to consolidate all the recipes that I have accumulated over the years into one, convenient place and hopefully at some point be able to print out a recipe book to give to my kids and grandkids. Cook'n has given me the capability of doing just that. In addition, I have my recipes on my mobile phone which helps me when grocery shopping. I recently purchased an android tablet for the express purpose of loading the Cook'n app and using it on my kitchen counter. The apps are working very well and I'm loving the convenience of having my recipes wherever I need them. I had an old version of this once on my computer, and I was quite impressed. Since then, I have upgraded, and it was so nice to have this software again. And it is certainly an even better program (how can you improve perfection?) that I remember. I use a meal subscription service, and I hate the fact that I print recipe, and I never see it again after that week! I plan to scan my favorites so I will always have these! And my pinterest recipes are such a mess–this software can finally get this organized. Maybe I’ll even share some recipes on my blog with this software! The various ways of building a cookbook are unsurpassed in both sophistication and very logical use. The .doc and/or .txt recipes are a cinch to get over into Cook'n and into a sensible organization - which is also searchable a number of ways! Searching and entering a recipe from the internet is a basic joy to work with - how many recipes for 'beef and barley soup' recipes do we really need anyhow....entering them all will require a much larger hard drive - but not so very much time! Most of the recipes I use or want to try are from various websites, and most are not formatted properly to get automatically added, but I don't mind having to manually copy and paste. (For the ingredients, I just paste it all in to the "Snag-It! Automatic Ingredient Entry") And the home page that pops up is fabulous, it shows a bunch of different recipes from different sites, and all I have to do is click them to get the recipe. I was a little intimidated when I first installed and opened up this program - there are a LOT of features. However, the program prompts you to watch the introductory video while it installs, so I did - the video is a great how-to-get-started tutorial and will get you using the program right away. I was able to successfully start adding recipes from the Live Recipe Feed and from my Pinterest boards within minutes. Features I particularly love: the ability to instantly adjust the recipes for larger or smaller groups; being able to pull up the nutritional information on any recipe (including the ones I add manually); being able to save all the neat recipes I've found on Pinterest and Facebook and various blogs all in one place.

I have been using Cook'n since at least version 8. Dan listens to problems and fixed them. The latest version is the FASTEST and syncs to cloud!! The refined interface is what it could have been all along. The nutritional analysis feature is better. I started using the templates too. Originally I thought they were more of a gimmick but then I started using the split template. Shows the ingredients popped out next to the recipe. Fast, efficient, nice to use now and it is a small business. Nice job DVO!

I have been using Cook'n, in various versions, for about 7 years. I love love love it!! Each upgrade is so right on with what is happening, that is the app for your phone, or iPad, syncing with Pinterest all your recipes. It is awesome. There have been a few occasions where, due to my lack of tech ability, I have had to contact the support at Cook'n. They are wonderful and will walk you through whatever is the problem. I recently got a MAC and went from my PC to MAC and all my recipes transferred with no probem. I can make menus, find nutritional values, share recipes, create different cookbooks (for instance 'Christmas', etc) and they are all organized. I couldn't manage without Cook'n. I use it at least every day.

I've had Cook'n software since the beginning and I have tried every other one out there. Cook'n is the best and by far superior to all others. I recently lost all cooking files with a mac crash. Every thing was gone. I contacted DVO support and in about 2 days they had me up and running with the software and all my cook books within 1 hour. Most of that time was the re download of all the cook books from the cloud account. Now why some say why did it take 2 days. I say I'm not the only one that owns the software. When all is said and done I've never in all the years of owning cook'n had a bad experience with Support. This software is far better then any out there. Software is the best and that goes along with the support team they have.

I'm actually a computer programmer/database analyst and I am VERY impressed with this program. Its versatility in downloading recipes from various sites and making conversions for user selected number of servings is fantastic. Very user friendly. Love the fact that I can pull in so many recipes from sites other than that belonging to the company selling the software. That saves so much money while opening the door for so many more recipes. Print options exist for various size index cards, half page, full page, pictures Y/N, Nutrition info, etc. Menu selections, shopping lists, search criteria, menu organization are all provided. I think ability to import entire cookbooks into my files was what helped me decide to try it. I get lots of emails with recipes from Southern Living, Taste of Home, etc... Now if I see one I want on an email I search for it through my Cook'n program on the internet, find it, push "Capture" then "Save" and Voila! I have a new entry. The best thing now is the new Cook'n Cloud. I have had computer crashes before and would hate to lose all of my recipes. Now they are in the cloud so if I change computers or it dies I just have to download the data to my new device. I don't know where the cloud is but I love it!!

I have transferred my existing recipes to my online cookbook-saved and sorted for easy retrieval! The entry is clear and easy to do-very user friendly. I can share a recipe with a friend with a click of a button instead of tediously coping it for her.

I have our family recipes preserved forever! One of my favorite features is the online search and capture feature. I can search for a recipe online from within the program and with one click, I can transfer that online recipe to my cookbook with pictures and all! I love it - and the people behind it. First, the software is awesome. It is so simple to use! You can purchase cookbooks or create your own with your own recipes or ones you download. You can use different layouts, or save pictures of the recipes. So easy to organize any way you want. (Cooking can be a big enough chore without being able to find the recipe you're looking for.)

Secondly, in the rare event of needing to contact anyone for support, they are prompt and get back to you fast. These people are as friendly as you could hope for and go out of their way to assist any way you ask. I have had Cook'n for over 5 years, and only recently have I had any kind of issue - and overnight I received the answers I needed to get back up and going again... Can't give them high enough marks. - If you're not as happy as I am, just tell them you want your money back - they'll do that too!!

I've used Cook'n for well over 10 years and it is a fantastic program. I used it to make a cookbook for our family reunion last summer and I was able to use features that I couldn't have used if I had had an online cookbook publisher do it for me. I'm not the most advanced computer user but can usually get things done that need to be done but whenever I have had a problem with this program, (and it has always been my problem, not the program's problem), I have gotten excellent, quick help from customer service and they never make me feel incompetent! Over the years I have probably had 6-8 encounters with customer service and they have always been efficient and solved the problem quickly. I have had other cooking programs and they were either so difficult to use or could not do what I wanted, that I gave up using them within a short period of time. That is not the case with this program. I use it almost everyday and couldn't be happier.

I have been using an archaic program from the early 90's because I can't find a new one that is as easy and contains all the features I like. My husband bought me Cook'n for a Christmas gift and I was afraid I would never use it. I was wrong. It downloaded with no problem, came with a quick video of all of its features and I was entering my recipes and organizing them the way I like in no time. My other program was so old that this new program couldn't automatically convert the recipes, but most newer programs will convert and save all the entering time. However, if you do have to re-enter, this program is quick and flexible. I really like the "capture" feature. I can go online and find 4 or 5 versions of a recipe that I want to try, "capture" them, which automatically enters them into the program, then compare, try and save the one I like the best. When I've had a question and need customer service, they have been quick to respond and eager to help. They seem to value having satisfied customers and I've been very happy with the service I've received.

Through the years I had tried several electronic cook books. This one tops all of them by far. It is fun, simple to learn and simple to use, especially with the video instructions available online. The few times I did not understand how to download something, the company supplied all the information needed. I always received a prompt response the few times I needed extra help. "WARNING" If you take the time to learn how to capture recipes from the web, you may become very addicted. If anyone is unhappy with this product, don't just give up. Contact the company, you will not be disappointed with their service or their product when you are done. It is a tool every home cook and chef should have. I believe it truly is the best!

We all know nothing is perfect for the needs of every person, especially food allergies like mine. I've already found important things the software doesn't do that I need it to. But it is still a powerful piece of software that meets most of my needs close to perfection. And for the needs not met: every person on the staff and technical crew has been not only extremely helpful in training me to use it, but receptive to my wish list for their next upgrade. That's so important because I have so many special dietary needs threatening my health (gluten free, cow-dairy free, refined sugar and artificial sugar free). I need a software program that can handle these vital aspects. If you are looking for a "new" tool to have for the kitchen, pick this one. It has so many features and applications to pick from. You can import your favorite recipe from favorite chef into this product and save it to your own cookbook recipe file. You can write your own (family recipes) into it. Make sure you watch the video to get the most out of it. The available electronic cookbooks from their web-site are many and not too expensive. Already comes with a DVO cookbook with hundreds of recipes. Customer Service is fast to answer your questions and polite. You really need to think about this one.

Firstly, this is the first recipe software that I've had the pleasure to try. I'm a housewife and home user, not a pro user. But I LOVED it. Here's why: *Better than Pinterest for collecting recipes from around the web. This feature worked on an Italian site as well as English so language doesn't seem to be an issue. *Gives me nutritional information for my recipes (very handy as I'm trying to drop a few pounds) and adjust recipes for different number of servings. *Various cookbooks are available as in-app purchases that import the recipes directly into your recipe list. *Most importantly, this software is super easy to learn/use and a snap to set up. *One other cool thing I think is worth a mention is that mobile apps are coming soon (for iphone and ipad so far, I believe - hopefully others soon). As a serial cookbook and recipe collector, this software has been just what I needed to keep my kitchen in order and help keep my favorite recipes all in one place. I'm sure we're going to be friends for many years to come. If you can get a copy of Cook'n for a fair price, I'd recommend it!

I have had recipe software in the past but they can't hold a candle to Cook'n. It is a dream program and ANY TIME I've ever had a problem a tech and/or Dan has spent as much time and effort as was needed to get me up and running again. (The problem usually was that my computer crashed due to a virus and not a problem with the Cook'n software! I would be lost without it. I have created my own chapters using old family favorites as well as newly collected recipes that accumulates over time. I am really ADD and needed this to get organized and keep myself on track. Once upon a time ago I went looking for a way to organize and keep all my recipes in one place instead of slips of paper that come up missing. I researched the internet and found Cook'n. I feel it is one of the best recipe software programs on the market. I recently upgraded to the latest version of Cook'n. I ran into some difficulty and they proved their customer service is outstanding. Their response to my email and the remote repair of my situation to save what I thought was lost was exceptional. The program is so user friendly to enter your treasured recipes handed down over the years or to capture new ones on the internet. To be totally honest I just about love everything about my Cook’n program and I depend on it to design my meals, menus and shopping list every pay period. It truly helps save money and makes my life so much easier. Because of the program we have been able to stick to the monthly budget and not order out so much. I print out my menu and post it on the refrigerator which completely eliminates that “Oh no what am I going to cook?” panic that previously turned into frustration because I was tired and couldn’t think of something fast, easy and delicious to cook and that turned into my spending money I really couldn’t afford to spend by ordering out. Cook'n is the most efficient recipe software I have found, online or in-store. There are so many options when you are loading your own recipes into the system. Another feature that made me very happy was the ability to add and delete not only ingredients, but Brands as well. It is so customizable! I can share a recipe with my sister and she can import it right in to her Cook'n. The best thing is at Thanksgiving... I can plan the whole menu and print my grocery list. About 8 years ago my husband was looking for a program to help me learn to cook. He found Cook'n and bought it for me. I had brain surgery after becoming very ill and as a result, this meant I had to have a craniodomy and the recovery was slow. I had to learn to shop and cook again. He would put this program on and it would show how to create my grocery list and it would have videos of how to prepare dishes. He would sit my laptop on my window shelf above the sink and I was able to figure out how to once again cook. I have been using this program and I feel without the excellant videos and all of this companies unwavering support, I would not have been as successful in learning to cook again. I have learned to use the meal planning menus and grocery list and I have been able to keep my pantry stocked and more importantly rotating properly with this AMAZING product. I have worked with DVo's support department and they too have been nothing but patient and helpful in making certain that all my request are resolved and that I am using their product to its full potential. I am currently working on entering all of my husband's parent's recipes and cann't wait to have them published in a cookbook for our future generations! I LOVE COOK'N and if you try it, you will too! This software is fantastic! I work full time, plus I am a wife and a mother. Before Cook'n figuring out "What's for dinner?" was borderline tramatic. Now that I have Cook'n I just pick a meal from my cookbook and drag and drop it into the menu plan for the week. Then with a click I can generate a shopping list. I check off the items that I already have and they aren't included in the shopping list. Making my cookbook was a breeze, also. Most recipes online I could easily capture into my cookbook with one click. Other recipes that I had to input manually only took a few minutes, because of Cook'n's quick drop down menus for adding ingredients. I don't have a smart phone or an i pad to send the recipes to, so I just print the ones I don't already have in my card file. I print them to a 3 x 5 size and then I cut them out and tape them to a index card, it takes just a few seconds. Thanks Cook'n creators and staff! Totally cool product!

I have used the last two versions of Cook'n, and I am so excited about the capture feature that Cook'n has. It is simple to use, and the best part of Cook'n is the outstanding support. I have printed recipe books from my favorite recipes for shower gifts, wedding gifts, and I have found the email updates very informative! I enjoy cooking and saving family recipes, and this, in my opinion, is the best software on the market. I did a great deal of research a couple years ago before purchasing cook'n, and I didn't hesitate when the latest version of Cook'n came on the market.

I have been using Cook'n for more than 15 years. Each upgrade makes it easier and easier. I have given all of our children the program. That way they always have their family recipes close at hand. The latest version allows them to have their own cookbook on the program which can be exported to each other as we share. I could go on and on about all the features of the program. One I like the best is the ability to change the serving size of any recipe. A great feature when you are having a large group to dinner and your recipe is only for 2 people.

How cool is this program??? I love it. Already my recipes are getting organized and so is my day-to-day menu. Now that I'm a working mom I sure don't have much time for the grocery shopping or for making menus. This program has helped me to save tons of time. Another great feature is that I can search online, using the Cook’n search bar and find recipes for things I want that are posted online. I enter the type of recipe I want into the search bar and click search. You know I love searching for recipes online, and this program actually has a built in feature to where one can search for recipes online, snag that recipe, and save it in the program. It is quite an intelligent program--it lays everything out for me in a spreadsheet just to make sure that I double check it, and then it comes out looking like this! Once a recipe is saved and brands assigned, you can click on the Nutrition button at the top of the screen and it will open up the nutrition screen for that recipe. It will take the individual ingredient nutrition information (from the database and/or those that you have entered). It will give you a total nutrition for the recipe. You can also select settings and have it divide by the number of servings to see a per serving nutrition data for the recipe. I love this feature! I have been going in and adjusting the ingredient list to make sure it includes the ingredients (brands) that I normally am using, so that I can get the most accurate information. This makes it so much easier for me as I diet.

Well I am loving my new software program! It can do so much and I could not be happier! It's the Cook'n Recipe Organizer. It is the neatest program ever. I am having so much fun organizing and sorting my recipes. It has mad a huge difference in my life. I had tons of recipes saved on my computer and now they are all in one very organized place. It is also helping me get all the loose saved recipes organized. It is so nice to finally throw away all those loose papers and know that I can find just what I want when I want!
