In a couple days we have got a Christmas party coming up we are doing with our friends and all our kids. We are planning to sing Christmas carols with my husband on the piano, have some hot chocolate, do a cookie exchange, and of course….wear ugly Christmas sweaters. What would a Christmas party be without them? :)

I don’t have an amazing Christmas sweater on hand and of course all the local thrift stores have been picked clean of any and all ugly Christmas sweaters, so I had to do the next best thing and search pinterest for some DIY ideas to make one myself. And I definitely found some keepers.

Another option I discovered because of pinterest is to reuse an old Christmas tree skirt and refashion it into a skirt. This is so adorable and is definitely a true contender for the ugly Christmas sweaters. This is what I am hoping to make in the future.

If you really wanted a couple more ideas to make the ultimate Ugly Christmas Sweater themed party, you could make an ugly sweater cake.

Or make Christmas sweater cookies.

Now that I have shown you all this amazing ugly Christmas sweater swag, I have to admit that I am not going to go all out with our party and make that cake or those cookies. I am a little too busy this time of year to go that far at this party. So instead I will share with you a cookie recipe I have absolutely fallen in love with! It is so ridiculously easy you can get a batch of cookies in the oven in under 10 minutes. That is an absolute must to me with all the business of the holidays to not have to take all day making these delicious cookies for our cookie exchange. And they only have 4 ingredients! That is a recipe for success in my book! Even though you probably don’t necessarily think lemon when you think of Christmas, these are so delicious no one will question you at all. They will all be begging you for the recipe :)
