Yummy Frosted Banana Bars


Recipe from Pat Tollefson - April's Cook'n Facebook Recipe Contest winner


INGREDIENTS FOR CAKE:
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas
INGREDIENTS FOR FROSTING:
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
DIRECTIONS:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease or spray with vegetable oil a 10x15 inch jellyroll pan.
  2. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside
  3. In a large bowl, Cream together, butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
  5. Stir in the sour cream and vanilla.
  6. Stir flour mixture into the batter.
  7. Finally, mix in the mashed banana.
  8. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes in preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow bars to cool completely before frosting with the cream cheese frosting.

"I might learn how to cook yet with all this software of yours. You can't believe how much it has helped.
