Banish the Sink Stink
By Sharon Ng
I hate walking into my kitchen and smelling something gross, only to find after going through everything, the garbage, the cabinet, the breakfast dishes, to find that the stink is coming from my garbage disposal. If I have lemon slices I use those to clean and deodorize the disposal. Then I found these. I am in love, and I think my disposal is too!
Garbage Disposal Refreshers
Ingredients:3/4 cup baking soda
1/2 cup salt
1/2 teaspoon liquid dish soap
1 lemon, grated and juice reserved
Directions:
Gather the ingredients for making the garbage disposal refreshers. Measure and add the baking soda and salt to a small mixing bowl, and give a stir, ensuring the mixture isn't lumpy. Add the grated lemon peel to soda mixture. Add the liquid dish soap, to the mixture as well. Add reserved juice a little at a time, stir and continue adding juice until the mixture resembles course sand.
Cover a sheet pan with parchment paper, and using a small scoop, pack the mixture. Gently put the molded scoops on the parchment. Allow the little domes to dry overnight. Pack in a sealed container or bag.
To use, add a few of the dried refreshers to your disposal, turn on and let the disposal chew the tablets up.
