5 Easy + Festive Halloween Snacks to Up Your “Fun Mom” Points
I’m always trying to up my “fun mom” points, and one easy way to do that is with festive holiday treats! There are so many options for Halloween snacks, ideas are everywhere! I went to Pinterest to find search results that compiled many ideas into one place, and let my kids pick from there. This is such a fun activity to do as a family, and gets the kids involved and invested too! Me and my kids love Pinterest, its so fun to scroll through the ideas and see what we want to try!
1) Spooky apples are such a fun way to celebrate the season! This one isn’t even a recipe, it’s just a quick and easy way to make an ordinary October day special!
2) Fruit Skewers! These are on theme with Halloween colors, and offer a healthy alternative to all the junk food the kids (and parents!) are eating this month!
3) Eyeball cookies are such a fun spin on your normal chocolate chip cookie recipe. The only new ingredient you need are the eyeballs! And if you use resees pieces as chocolate chips, they’ll look extra colorful and festive. It doesn’t take much to impress children! Or adults, for that matter!
4) Halloween puppy chow! It’s always a party hit! This snack is fun to have around for an after school snack, appetizer at a party, or treat during a spooky movie night! It’s key to serve it in a bowl with a skeleton lounging in it! Here’s what to include:
9 cups rice chex cereal
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter divided
1/2 cup butter or margarine, divided
1 teaspoon , vanilla divided
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar divided
1 1/2 cups candy corn

5. Rice Krispie Monsters is such a fun one, and another great way to use up the rest of your edible eyeballs! Make you favorite rice krispie recipe, dip in white chocolate that you dye various colors, and then put eyeballs on while the chocolate is still soft! Voila, childhood made!

2) In a pan, heat white chocolate chips, 1/4 cup peanut butter, and 1/4 cup butter or margarine. Stir frequently until melted. Add 1/2 tsp. vanilla.
3) Remove from heat and pour over one of the bowls of cereal until evenly coated. Pour into a gallon bag with 3/4 cup powdered sugar. Seal bag and shake until well coated.
4) Repeat Steps 2 & 3 for the chocolate chex.
5) Pour white chocolate and milk chocolate chex into one bowl. Add candy corns and mix well. Store in airtight containers.
