ANNOUNCING: "The Many Lives of A Can of Biscuits" Contest!
The ideas are flowing in! Thank you for sharing. Here's a few more to "chew" on while we continue to wait for more creativity from our readers:
"Little Pillows": Press two biscuits together. Roll out very thin. Cut into 1½ inch squares. (Don't worry about the scraps. They fry up fine, too!) Drop a few pieces at a time into hot fat, 370 to 400 degrees. At first turn over three or four times, quickly, to make them puff evenly. Should be golden brown. They can be served as a hot bread with soups or salads or dusted with cinnamon-sugar for a sweet treat.
Sunday Breakfast Bowknots: Stretch biscuits gently till about 6 inches long or easy to tie in bow knots. Or, spiral-twist and pinch ends together. Deep fry, then serve with maple or berry syrup. These are yummy!
Keep experimenting and send us your ideas. We'll print the winning ideas the first of the new year.
