Oh-So-Orange Spread
Here's a quick and DELICIOUS way to get your own flavored cream cheese spread: With rubber spatula, combine 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature, with 1/3 cup orange marmalade, 2 tablespoons confectioner's sugar, and 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest in a bowl until smooth. This is an amazing icing for coffee cake, sweet rolls, bundt cake, or even carrot cake! Smart, huh?
Zesty Apricot Spread
Another quick and easy flavored cream cheese you won't want to miss: Same procedure with the Orange Spread, but this time add 1/3 cup apricot jam, the 2 tablespoons confectioner's sugar, and 1 tablespoon grated lemon zest in a bowl until smooth. This also is a wonderful icing for the above-mentioned sweet treats. Still smart, huh?
