Give-Aways

I have spent the last 2 hours reading your newsletter and wonderful recipes. I have already printed a whole bunch I want to try. I love them because they are using ingredients one has on hand. I love that and just wanted you to know how much we appreciate all your hard work in putting together this newsletter. Thank you very much.

Garlic Bread

Serves: 12

  Download this recipe.

4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted margarine or butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 pound loaf Italian breads or French bread, cut into 1/2-inch slices

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.

2. In a small bowl, combine the oil, butter, garlic, oregano, and salt. Brush the mixture on one side of each bread slice, then press the slices back together to form a loaf. Wrap the loaf in foil and bake until hot in the center, 15-20 minutes.

Here’s proof that simpler is better!

For a delightful variation that goes well with roasted pork or turkey, substitute crumbled dried sage leaves for the oregano.
