Memorial Day used to be known as Decoration Day. Initially commorated to honor the Union Soldiers who died in the American Civil War, after World War 1 it was expanded to include all American casualties of any war or any military confrontation.
It is nationally celebrated on the last Monday of May, which will be May 25 this year. While we enjoy our 3 day week-end, let us take a moment to honor all of those who make our divine freedoms, possible.
