I have spent the last 2 hours reading your newsletter and wonderful recipes. I have already printed a whole bunch I want to try. I love them because they are using ingredients one has on hand. Sizzlin' Steak or Chicken Fajitas

Serves: 5


Download this recipe.

Marinade:
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 garlic clove, minced
1 1/2 teaspoons onion salt
1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
1 1/2 teaspoons oregano
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin, ground
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon red bell peppers
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 pound beef sirloin steaks, or chicken, cut into thin strips
1/2 cup cilantro leaves, minced
1/2 cup onions, sliced
1/2 cup tomatoes, chopped
1/2 cup green bell peppers, sliced

3-4 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup green onions, thinly sliced
8" flour tortilla (homemade is delicious)
Guacamole optional
Sour cream, optional


Mix together the first 11 ingredients (all ingredients listed before "chicken"). Add steak or chicken, cilantro, tomatoes, onions, and peppers. Marinate for 3 hours or overnight. When ready to sizzle, heat 3-4 tablespoons oil in a 10-inch skillet. Pour in the meat mixture (don’t drain). Stir and cook for about 5-8 minutes or until meat is done. Remove from heat and toss in 1/2 cup thinly sliced onions. To serve, roll up into 8-inch flour tortillas. Garnish with guacamole or sour cream as desired.
