I have spent the last 2 hours reading your newsletter and wonderful recipes. I have already printed a whole bunch I want to try. I love them because they are using ingredients one has on hand. I love that and just wanted you to know how much we appreciate all your hard work in putting together this newsletter. Thank you very much.
Just For Laughs: A Video I Couldn't Resist Sharing!
by Patty Liston
I was reading a Bon Appétit! blog which featured on their site, “Learn to Cook Like a 1940’s Housewife”. I figured that I might learn something, after all my mother was a 1940’s housewife, so I clicked on the video. It was—hm-m-m-m, how to explain? — educational, funny, sexist, nostalgic?
Have you ever wondered what it means to “cream” something? How are you at blending? Do you want to learn how to make a cake before your hubby or significant other comes home for lunch? Not to worry. This video will strip the ignorance right out of you.
My own observations:
1. I want a piece of the cake that was made
2. Whatever happened to wearing full aprons?
3. Margie’s mom flunked the “I’ll-teach-my-daughter-to-cook” test
4. The male narrator probably doesn’t even know how to boil water
5. And they lived happily-ever-after
Enjoy!
