Give-Aways

I have spent the last 2 hours reading your newsletter and wonderful recipes. I have already printed a whole bunch I want to try. I love them because they are using ingredients one has on hand. I love that and just wanted you to know how much we appreciate all your hard work in putting together this newsletter. Thank you very much.

Soaps for Sensitive Skin

I have a question about the laundry soap. I have very sensitive skin and am wondering if the homemade laundry soap is gentle enough for sensitive skin?

Also, you mentioned a shampoo bar in your post on the laundry soap and I was hoping for the recipe for that.

Thanks so much,

Lynne

Lynne,

Thanks for your interest in the homemade soaps. There is a real satisfaction in making them. I wish I could tell you that the laundry soap I make would be gentle on your sensitive skin, unfortunately I have no way of knowing since each person can react so differently to the same product. You may want to go to a local health food store and check out their Castle Soaps and I am sure they have other options for sensitive skin.

I love to share recipes but have been concerned how to share my recipe for the shampoo bar with you. Making homemade soap requires the use of lye and because there are safety measures involved, I would not be in a position to send out this recipe as a dvo employee.

I researched and studied out soap making before I actually tried to make it. Which is what I would suggest to all persons interest in making soaps that require using lye. I actually got my recipe from off of the internet. You can go to TheSage.com the name of the soap company is Majestic Mountain Sage. It will give you all the information that you will need. I hope that I have been of some assistance to you.

Thanks again for your interest and I wish you well at finding products that work with your sensitive skin.

My Best,

Jeanne Wolfley
