A Colorful Meal is a Balanced Meal

Dear Dan,

When we plan a good meal that is healthy, we look for many different colors. Meat, sweet potatoes, green salad (not iceberg lettuce), or corn, mixed peas and carrots, rapini, zucchini, etc.

That is a balance meal. We've found that by just mixing the colors on your plate, that you can know that your meal is balanced nutrition wise.

We say no iceberg lettuce because it takes the body at least 10 days or more to digest. These are some ideas that make a healthy meal.
