Brazilian Fruit Salad
Servings 4
Salada de frutas
Calories per serving: 108
Ingredients:
1 cup papaya
1 cup fresh pineapple chunk
1 cup apple
1 cup orange
1 cup banana
Directions:
Dice equal parts of the ingredients and mix. Watermelon is sometimes used and adds a nice color.
Should be made an hour in advance, so that all of the flavors can blend. Sometimes a little fresh orange juice is added. If necessary, sweeten with a little sugar. This is normally served alone. However, for a fancier, less typical dessert, a scoop of ice cream could be served on top.
NOTE: Although this is called salada it is not a salad in the American sense, but rather a dessert.
