Jack-O'-Lantern Cheese Ball
By Sydney Hill
I'm having a Halloween party and have officially decided that I want to try this out. It looks amazing (as in the image itself), but glancing at the ingredients, I'm almost positive it's going to have great flavor as well.
Festivity is fun and adds so much to the ambiance. No need to go all out with this one, it seems simple enough. You probably have most of the ingredients on hand.
I hope that everyone has a fantastic, fun, and safe Halloween. Have the kids wear those glow sticks and go with them if you can, especially after dark. Enjoy the Holiday!
Jack O' Lantern Cheese Ball
Serving size: 10
Calories per serving: 204
2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, slightly softened
2 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, grated (about 3/4 cup)
3 scallion, chopped
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup finely crushed orange-nacho-cheese-flavored tortilla chips (from about 2.1 oz chips) such as Doritos
4 large, ripe, pitted black olives
1 small dill pickle
Directions:
2. Place tortilla chip crumbs in a shallow bowl and roll cheese ball in crumbs. Press crumbs on any white patches. Place on a serving plate. Cut 2 olives into 4 triangles, 2 for eyes and 2 for the corners of a mouth. Cut remaining 2 olives into squares for teeth. Attach eyes and mouth to cheese ball with toothpicks. Cut pickle in half and place on top, forming a stem. Serve right away or cover loosely and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with crackers, toasted baguette slices or pita crisps or any other Halloween goodies you might have!
