For Sisters and Lovers of Cookie Dough
I wanted to share a couple cookie dough-based recipes with you, and I couldn’t think of anything I’d rather pair it with than my beautiful sister (who happens to be another newsletter writer-Sydney!)
Let me start by saying- Sydney LOVES cookie dough. I’ve met plenty of cookie dough lovers (I am definitely one myself), but I’ve never met anyone who loves cookie dough more than my sister. So I couldn’t share these two delicious cookie dough recipes without thinking of her.
Sydney and I are only 16 months apart. We played together all the time growing up; and then we became hormonal teenagers and didn’t get along so well:). My dad would always tell us that we needed to get along because our other friends would move away and someday we would just have each other. At the time I remember thinking “yeah, right!”.
But we outgrew our immaturity and today I can definitely say that Sydney is my best friend! We live next to each other, so we see each other almost every day. Our kids play together, we go on double dates, we share food, we let ourselves into each other’s houses, my sister is definitely my closest friend! She is hilarious:). Sydney has a spunky side, and she loves to laugh. She is so much fun to be around! She knows how to have a good time and how to help everyone else have a good time too:). She’s also a great cook and housekeeper. She sews beautiful Christmas pajamas for her daughter, bakes some really yummy desserts, and loves to create things to beautify her home.
But she is also my example. Sydney is constantly serving others. My family moved when I was 6 months pregnant and she basically unpacked my house. She watched my son when my daughter was born so I could recover; anytime she comes over she is asking if I need help with anything. But it’s not just me that she serves! She is always one of the first people to volunteer for service projects at church or to take a meal to people in need; she is constantly watching someone’s kids or baking for someone. She is amazing!
I’m thinking even more about my sister this week because she just had her second child (and he is darling! But I’m the biased aunt;) ). I love watching her interact with her children- it is so obvious that she loves them. She is a wonderful mother and person all-around!
Thanks for spending the time to read while I brag about my little sister. But she really is amazing and I am so grateful to have her in my life! She is my best friend and I love her.
Maybe you could make these yummy recipes for someone special in your life. It might be a sister, a brother, a good friend, an aunt or uncle, a grandparent, a son or daughter, a parent. Don’t take all those special people in your life for granted! Take the time to tell them how much they mean to you and how much you love them.
And what says love better than a delicious dessert? ;)
The first recipe is Cookie Dough pizza. Sydney mentioned that I would be sharing this recipe with you in one of her recent articles, and here it is! It’s a copycat recipe from Pizza Pie Café (which is DEFINITELY a restaurant to look into). Be careful with the cookie dough. You want enough to cover the pizza but if you are a little too generous with the cookie dough, you’ll end up with a giant cookie on pizza crust (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing;) ).
The other recipe is Cookie Dough fudge. If you like cookie dough, be very wary- this recipe is so darn good!! I couldn’t stop eating it. It’s basically really rich cookie dough in little square shapes a.k.a. cookie dough lover’s heaven.
If you have other delicious cookie dough recipes I would love to hear about them! Or if you just want to give a shout out to someone who means a lot to you feel free to share a comment about them!
