Dessert Dips to Die For!
Confession: I have a huge sweet tooth. I definitely love my salty snacks, but it’s very rare that I will turn down a fresh chocolate chip cookie or chocolate of any kind, really ;). Recently I helped throw a baby shower for my sister-in-law, and of course, every good baby shower comes with ridiculous amounts of good desserts! We had cake and cookies and brownies- and some delicious dessert dips that I had to share with you!
I love dessert dips because you get crunchy and sweet at the same time, and there are so many varieties- you could experiment with dessert dips for days! I also love all the possibilities when it comes to dipping utensils! Graham crackers, Vanilla Wafers, Ritz crackers, apple slices, banana bites, even homemade cookies! It’s hard to go wrong with a delicious sweet dip!
Lucky for you, I have 2 winning dips right here, so you have somewhere to start ;)
The first is called a cookie dough dip- though I wouldn’t compare it to cookie dough. This is the perfect dip if you like a little texture to your dips. Mini chocolate chips and toffee bits give it a really fun crunch to bite into, while making it absolutely delicious at the same time! I also HIGHLY recommend letting this dip chill in the fridge for a couple days. It’s one of those recipes that just gets better the longer the flavors have to mesh together. I made it on a Friday night, and it was definitely tasty, but with a very strong cream cheese flavor (which I’m not saying is a bad thing ;) ). Saturday it was a hit at the shower, but I’ll be honest- snacking on some leftovers on Sunday and Monday, I can confidently say that this dip is so much better by day 2! Which makes it really great for those occasions when you want to bring something tasty but know you won’t have time to make anything the day of the event! Make this dip 2-3 days in advance and you’ll be set! It is a really stiff dip, so make sure you pull it out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before serving, or be sure to serve with some particularly sturdy crackers!
The second dip is a Funfetti dip and this was a HUGE hit. I got so many compliments on this dip- and the best part is you can literally throw it together in like 2 minutes! So easy, and so scrumptious! It’s a very lightweight texture, and I can’t help but think of the possibilities you could do with this dip! Frosting on cupcakes, in between layers of cake, an ice cream topping- you just can’t go wrong! (My sister even started dipping her snickerdoodles in the dip, and she heartily approved ;) ). It’s also a very visually appealing dip-a beautiful fluffy white sprinkled with bits of colors. Cute, easy, tasty- all you could ask for in a recipe, right?
I’d love to hear if you’ve tried either of these recipes, or if you have a favorite go-to dessert dip recipe!
