Dan Tests Positive for COVID-19
As some of you may know, I tested positive for COVID-19 last week. I was reluctant to post anything about it because I feel like this whole thing has been blown way out of proportion, I'm not looking for attention, and...well...ain't nobody got time fo dat. But, then it occurred to me that maybe my experience (and the cure) may help someone recover and may help others avoid getting sick altogether so I decided to share this. I shared this remedy with one other person who is sick with COVID-19 and they said they felt remarkably better within a few hours just as I did.
I got infected by my son, Danny, and his wife, Cecilia, when they came over for dinner on Mother's Day. Cecilia works as a cashier at Harmon's Grocery Store so she's on the front lines everyday. Four days later, I developed a slight cough and a fever and I started feeling achy all over. My blood oxygen level dropped to 91 (by the way, definitely get an oximeter so you know whether you need to go to the hospital or not...if your blood oxygen level drops below 88-90, go to the hospital). My resting heart rate which is normally below 60 beats per minute increased to 96 and I was panting. Note: I didn't feel like I was struggling to breath or get oxygen but I found it almost impossible to sleep at night because my heart was racing and I was panting.
The sickness is extremely exhausting. I didn't watch TV for the first four days. I can't really explain why other than that it just sounded exhausting and tedious. I had a hard time opening my eyes. I just laid there like a zombie. I knew I should drink fluids and there were times when I was thirsty but the water bottle was just out of reach and getting it just took too much effort. So, I would just lay there for hours thinking about getting up and taking a drink. The isolation is difficult as well. Kathy and the boys would leave food at the door, knock, and then run.
I tried every remedy I could. I threw everything at this but the kitchen sink. I was downing vitamin C like crazy. I even sat outside in the sun and fresh air because they say that it helps. But, nothing seemed to touch it or have any effect. My neighbor, Nick Markham, told me to take Zinc and tonic water with Quinine. He said "take this and you'll recover in 24 to 48 hours." I was skeptical to say the least but my sister, Teri, looked into it and said that there is actually good scientific research to support his claim. So, I said "Nick...be a good minister and bring that by my house will ya cuz, I can't go to the store to get it." So, he did!
It sat on my nightstand for a full 24 hours before I got up the energy and the gumption to finally take it. Five hours later, I felt noticeably better. My fever was gone. My body aches were gone. And, I had more energy. I got out of bed, took a shower, and cleaned up my bedroom a bit. And, I went back to work two days ago.
I shared this with a friend who has COVID-19 and he had a similar experience. If you're sick with COVID-19, I recommend this treatment. Give it a try. It can't hurt! And, if you're not sick yet, you may want to take this as a preventative measure. FYI...I took 150mg of Zinc and 4 ounces of tonic water with Quinine at morning and at night. If you're taking it as a preventative measure, the dosage may be different. I'm not quite sure. But, the Zinc and Quinine work together so be sure to take both. I hope this helps!
