Halloween weekend just passed! I’ve never been a fan of the gory aspect of Halloween, but I absolutely love watching kids enjoy Halloween. I love seeing all the costumes, watching the joy of trick-or-treater faces, and the trading of Halloween goodies! I remember one of my favorite parts of Halloween as a kid was the post Halloween activities. After getting back from trick-or-treating, my parents would put on a new movie, and my siblings and I would trade the various candies from our hoard, trying to get more of our favorites!

I’m a huge caramel fan, so I always reach for Milk Duds and Twix. I also love 100 Grands and Milky Ways and Heath bars. My favorite non-caramel candies are Hershey’s Cookies n’ Cream and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I’ll eat other candies, but if these ones are in the mix, they’re definitely the first to go!

And of course, when choosing which bags of candy to buy for trick-or-treaters, I always grab some that have my favorites. But I realize that what’s my favorite may not be everyone else’s favorite- and so I actually did a poll because I was truly curious about this! Which Halloween candy reigns supreme?

I will provide a little disclaimer here- I polled a group of women, most of whom are moms, and so that definitely skews the results a little. If I had polled a group of young kids, I’m sure the results would have been a little different. But I figure most kids are thrilled with whatever candy they get, and if you’re wanting to buy candy to please an older crowd, this gives you something to work with ;).

I don’t think it really comes as a surprise that Reese’s came in first with a whopping 227 votes. This one by far was the most popular. Here are the complete results of my poll :

I didn’t include any candy that had less than 10. I also have to note that people were allowed to vote for more than one, so some candies may have received more than they would have otherwise. But I think we can clearly see what some of the more popular candies are! I always think it’s so interesting to see how different we are as humans. Some of my favorites are at the bottom of this list, while others that are near the top are ones that I could easily go without (I’m looking at you Snickers and Kit Kats ;) ).

I’m thinking next year I’ll have to focus on a pool of kids for a poll. I would be super curious to see how the results differ! (I’m guessing non-chocolate candies will be a little higher on the list!).
