I Have Yet to Find the Perfect Recipe for This
There are two things in life that I feel I would love just to make from scratch perfectly that are as good as you would get in a restaurant and those are ranch dressing sauce and good chocolate chip cookies. What more do you need in life than a good ranch dressing to dip anything and everything in and a perfect chocolate chip cookie for whenever the mood strikes? I remember in an episode of This Is Us, one character challenged everyone to name a food that isn’t better either dipped in chocolate or ranch dressing. I think this person was really on to something--it seems impossible to find one! Basically 90% of all savory American food is probably better dipped in ranch!
I think we all know of some places with really good ranch dipping sauce--typically it’s at places with chicken wings, chicken fingers, cheesy bread, even really good local burger places seem to have really great ranch to spread on your burger. The thing is--it seems nearly impossible to me to find a great recipe like this online! Take the Chilis ranch dressing, for example. They have a really great ranch, with great punchy flavor, likely from the buttermilk, and there are so many blogs that claim to have a perfect copycat recipe for Chili’s ranch dressing. Some of them even claim that it is better than Chilis ranch and to me, that just could not be further from the truth.
So please, if you know of a good ranch dressing recipe to dip things like chicken wings in--help a girl out! Sharing is caring. It would just make my whole world to have a great recipe on deck, come Super Bowl time, or just a random Wednesday night when you are getting a burger or making chicken wings in your air fryer. It would be pretty awesome.
As for chocolate chip cookies, thankfully I have really found two recipes that I absolutely love, so this other uber-important food item is taken care of. I really love this recipe called “pan-banging” chocolate chip cookies where you start with a massive ball of cookie dough, 3.5 ounces a piece, and you literally bang them inside the oven onto the oven rack to create these incredible ripples that ultimately give you rippled, crunchy edges with a warm, gooey cookie in the center. Perfection, I tell you!
Do you have a couple of favorite foods that you wish you could find the perfect recipe for? Have you found the gold at the end of the rainbow for any of them yet? Please share your thoughts below (as well as pointing me in the right direction for a good ranch recipe if you know of one ;) ). I wish you luck and good fortune on your mighty quest. I shall hope for the same for me too!
