Make This Frothy Cappuccino Punch for AllYour Holiday Parties
One thing I like about getting recipes from Taste of Home is that the recipes I see are most often submitted by a random person from anywhere in the world. And usually they have a fun story to go with it. That was the case when I read the quote from Rose from Nampa, Idaho, who said, “When I tried this punch at a friend’s wedding shower, I had to have the recipe. Guests will eagerly gather around the punch bowl when you ladle out this frothy mocha ice cream drink.”
That was certainly intriguing enough for me to want to check out the recipe. It was a recipe for “cappuccino punch” that is super easy to make. People love making a big bowl of this for holiday parties or showers. You make it with hot water, sugar and instant coffee granules, then when that is cooled down, you add whole milk and top it with vanilla ice cream. It sounds decadent and is a crowd pleaser for sure!
Tips From Recipe Reviews:
Another thing I love about the Taste of Home recipes is that they are often reviewed a lot and have great tips or stories to go with them as well. Here are a few that I thought were helpful for this cappuccino punch.

- One commenter mentioned this has become a Thanksgiving and Chrstimas tradition that is highly requested by family members each year.
- Another woman said that she read this recipe in the orthodontists office 8 years ago and has been making it for all kinds of parties ever since. She said she has even been making it “guiltless” by substituting with Splenda, fat-free/sugar-free ice cream, decaf coffee, and fat-free milk.
- One tip that came up quite a lot was to make sure you make another coffee/sugar mixture ahead of time to allow it to cool because you are more than likely going to be making a second batch, because people are likely going to drink up the first bowl in record-breaking time!
- And lastly, another said that she serves it all the time at Christmas and for baby showers. She will often leave a can of whipped cream for guests to add on top. She also adds a bottle of Baily’s Irish Creme on the side so that guests can make it boozy if they want to.
