Best Summer Food Hacks PART 2!
I’m back at it with a few more fun summer food hacks to add to your repertoire. After last week, you might have enjoyed making your own smoker box and “smoking” some meats with your gas grill. Or perhaps you made delicious salad after salad with the “no-peel” eggs. Here are a few more fun food hacks you could try soon!
How to make mess-free ice cream cones for a crowd
I’ve got another great tip from America’s favorite Instagram grandma, @BrunchWithBabs, for you on how to make mess-free ice cream cones for a crowd so you can do a bit of prep work and everyone gets their cone at the same time, rather than you having to scoop them and hand them out one at a time.
How to peel a kiwi with a spoon or glass
Kiwis are such a fun summer fruit to enjoy with all kinds of things, whether it’s a fruit salad, dessert pizza, or just a snack on its own. But nobody wants to eat that fuzzy skin and there are a couple fun ways to try peeling a kiwi rather than using a vegetable peeler or cutting strips off with a knife.
Shredding mozzarella (and other soft cheeses)
Making quick homemade pizzas in the summertime whether in your grill, air fryer, or in the oven never got better than learning how to easily shred delicious fresh Mozzarella cheese. This one might make you have a bit of a face-palm moment but you know how shredding super-soft fresh Mozzarella cheese can be quite a challenge? Well not anymore! Simply freeze the cheese for 30 minutes before you shred it and it will make it SO much easier. You will never want to buy the pre-shredded again! This works great for any of the soft cheeses that are kind of hard to grate.
Easiest way to open freezer pops
You know how every time you get out the beloved Otter Pops you can never find a pair of scissors to cut the top open and you guiltily use your teeth as tools to rip them open? Well apparently you don’t need them. A hack going around the internet is simply to snap the freezer pop right in half and it will easily break into two pieces for the kids to enjoy.
Have you tried any of these hacks before? Are they worth their weight in gold or not? Please share your thoughts in the comments below.

- Add cupcake liners to a muffin pan.
- Stick a marshmallow at the bottom of each ice cream cone to prevent any drips from the bottom.
- Fill each cupcake liner with a couple scoops of ice cream.
- Freeze until it’s time to serve.
- When it’s time to serve, have each person grab their cupcake liner full of ice cream and press each into the cone. Voila!

But nobody wants to eat that fuzzy skin and there are a couple fun ways to try peeling a kiwi rather than using a vegetable peeler or cutting strips off with a knife.
- Method #1: Cut both ends of the kiwi off. Grab a spoon and slide the spoon between just under the skin and the kiwi. Slide the spoon all the way around the kiwi until it is completely free from the skin and pull it out in one piece with the spoon.
- Method #2: Cut both ends off of the kiwi. Cut in half lengthwise and push against the inside edge of the glass until it peels the whole thing and the fruit falls right into the glass.
