The night before, marinate the beef cubes in the salt, pepper, wine and bay leaf, sweet basil and chopped parsley.
The following day, in a large saucepan, fry the bacon and layer the meat (without the marinade) with onions and tomatoes and pour the marinade over the top.
Bring to a boil, cover and turn the heat down and simmer for one hour. Shake the pan occasionally. Serve with boiled new potatoes
