In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, corn syrup and 4 teaspoons milk until blended. Add remaining milk if needed, 1 teaspoon at a time, until of spreading consistency. If desired, stir in food color, a drop at a time.
Spread thinly on sugar cookies as a base for decorating. Glaze dries quickly, so keep bowl covered. This glaze dries to a shiny, firm finish.
Brown Cookie Glaze: Add 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder to Cookie Glaze.
