Place bacon in a 2-quart saucepan. Over medium heat, fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel set aside.
Over medium heat, cook celery in bacon drippings for 5 minutes or until almost tender. Stir in corn with liquid and lima beans with liquid. Increase heat to medium-high. Bring to a boil drain well.
Cut cheese into strips. Stir into vegetables. Sprinkle with pepper. Stir over low heat until cheese is melted. Spoon into a serving dish. Sprinkle with reserved bacon.
Serve with pork chops, frankfurters or chicken and crusty bread.
* One can (8 oz.) cut green beans can be used if you prefer.
