Whole Wheat Crackers

Ingredients

2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons wheat germ
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons dry milk powder
6 tablespoons margarine
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon molasses
Cornmeal
Paprika, garlic powder, or onion powder

Directions:

Combine first 6 ingredients in a mixing bowl. Cut in margarine with a pastry blender until the size of oats. Combine water and molasses stir into mixture. On a lightly-floured board, turn out and knead briefly until smooth. Divide dough in half and refrigerate for 30 minutes, covered.

Grease 2 cookie sheets and sprinkle each with cornmeal. Roll one-half of dough directly onto cookie sheet with a rolling pin roll 1/16 -inch thick. Sprinkle lightly with paprika, garlic powder, or onion powder. Run rolling pin over dough once or twice more. Prick with a fork. Cut into squares or triangles with a pizza cutter. Bake in a preheated 350° F oven for 10 minutes or until lightly-browned.

Note: These crunchy little goodies keep well in a tightly-covered container.
