Chicken Cacciatore

Ingredients

2 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast halves or thighs (still frozen is fine)
4 medium zucchini or yellow crooked neck squash, cut in 1/2 lengthwise and sliced into 1 inch pieces
1 medium onion cut into wedges
1 (26-ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
1 teaspoon salt
12 ounces whole wheat pasta (any shape)

Directions:

1. 4 to 10 hours before serving: Place chicken in slow cooker.
2. Add zucchini or squash and onion to slow cooker.
3. Pour spaghetti sauce and salt over all and stir.
4. Cook on high 4 to 5 hours or on low 8 to 10 hours.
5. 15 minutes before serving: Put a large pot of water on to boil. When water boils, add pasta. Set timer for 10 minutes.
6. Meanwhile, put together a salad and set table. When timer sounds, drain pasta.
7. Serve chicken over pasta with salad on the side.
