In a large stockpot mix together all ingredients, except tomato paste. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low; simmer for one hour. Add tomato paste; bring to a boil. Spoon into jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace. Wipe rims; secure with lids and rings. Process in a boiling water bath for 40 minutes. Set jars on a wire rack to cool; check for seals.
Tip: Give a jar of homemade spaghetti sauce with a glass pantry jar filled with spaghetti, or layer different shapes & sizes of noodles like wagon wheels, rotini, elbow macaroni and shells. What fun!
