Cook'n Defies Gravity!
Over the past year or so, Cook'n for Mac users have noticed that the splash screen that appears when you launch Cook'n was turning upside down for a brief moment right before app launch.
In fact, if you looked closely, it wasn't just turning upside down; it was actually inverting too! For example, this is what the image looks like upside down...
But this is how the image looked on the Mac...
It was super bizarre and many of you contacted us about this strange anomaly. We pointed out that this was actually not a Cook'n bug. Rather, this was an attribute of the latest Mac operating system.
In fact, the splash screen for the Eclipse IDE tool that Cook'n is built on was doing the same thing. The inverted splash screen didn't hurt anything. It was just a little disconcerting and it seemed to cause some people to wonder if something was twisted up inside their machine.
The good news is that Mac just released Sequoia, the newest version of the Mac Operating System for their desktop and laptop computers. And, with this new version of the Mac OS, the splash screen in Cook'n (and all other Eclipse RCP apps) does not invert anymore.
YAY!!
Apparently, Apple finally fixed this strange bug in the Mac Operating System. So, if you haven't upgraded your Mac to Sequoia yet, you may want to do it sooner rather than later.
