Lego Candy Machines- The Perfect Summer Activity for Kids And Grandkids!

Living in a trailer means you get rid of a lot of stuff. Toys were definitely one of the things we condensed down. But one of the toys we for sure wanted to bring with us is Legos. I love that all my children (from 11 down to 1) can find a way to play with Legos. They spark ideas, encourage creativity, and are a great way to keep my kids entertained on rainy days!

This past week, my 5 year old wanted to create a penny machine with Legos. I thought that was a cute idea, but wasn’t sure that you could actually do that. HA! Mama obviously doesn’t play with Legos enough. Is there anything you can’t build with Legos???

I came across SO MANY cute ideas for Lego candy dispensers! While most don’t require a coin to release the candy, I actually did find one that totally uses a penny to release the Tic-Tac. My kids will be so thrilled! I just need to buy some Tic-Tacs when this rain ends ;).

If you’ve got kids or grandkids that need something to do this summer, challenge them to build one of these candy machines! I included links for different candies. There is one that works perfectly for M&M’s and Skittles, one that is shaped for Starbursts, one that is built for little chocolate bars, and one that seems to have jellybeans, but you could easily use for any small candy. I love the creativity! And I’m sure your kids will too!

Here are instructions to build a candy dispenser that actually uses a coin:

Here is how you build a candy dispenser for Starbursts or for mini chocolate bars:

And finally, here is another version of a candy dispenser that would work with any small candy like M&M’s, Skittles, jellybeans, etc.

While your kids would be sure to have fun building just one, it would be fun to challenge them to try each one, and to see which one is their favorite! You could also see which one is easiest/hardest to build for them. After building all the machines, you could challenge them to see if they can create their own!

And keep in mind… Legos aren’t JUST for kids ;). If you’ve got Legos around, give it a try yourself!

Have fun building!
