Cook unpared yams in boiling water until tender. Remove from water let cool. Pare and slice into 1/4 -inch slices. Arrange slices in a heavy skillet. Sprinkle with salt to taste. Spread brown sugar over yams dot with butter and pour orange juice over top. Cover and heat over medium heat until hot and syrup has thickened.
