Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt and pepper; shape into 4–6 burgers. Fry (in a little oil) burgers on both sides till done. Remove burgers and pour off excess fat. Add tomato sauce, a little water to rinse can, and seasoning. Bring to a boil; stir; simmer. Return burgers, cover, and cook 15 minutes. Just before serving, place a slice of mozzarella on each burger, and replace cover just to melt cheese. Serve on buttered, toasted buns.
