Place potatoes in bottom of a large soup pan. Cover potatoes with water and add salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce to medium-low heat. Cook 20–25 minutes, or until tender. Drain and add half-and-half to potatoes. Mash with a potato masher or mix with an electric mixer. Mix in cream cheese and ranch dressing mix until smooth. Serve immediately. Makes 10–12 servings.
* More half-and-half or milk may be added for creamier potatoes.
