Just wanted to let you know that I LOVE my Cook'n Recipe Organizer software. I have been using it so much that I'm afraid I could never live without it now. I love the dove-tailing tips every week. My husband even remarked how much eaiser it is to do things ahead of time for meals later in the week when we are more rushed for time. I really enjoy watching the videos online that show how easy most of these recipes are!! I've even told my sisters how much I love it.
I am so excited about the new printing options that came with the new upgrade because my personal cookbook is a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 three-ring binder. It was a little cumbersome printing the recipes before, but NOW it is so much easier.

Thank you very much for a wonderful software program. I have purchased my Recipe Organizer and I have only JUST started 'looking around'. I am so excited about using this fun (and now necessary) new kitchen tool! My laptop will be sitting on the island while I go about my cooking. Can't wait to implement the grocery list as well.

First let me tell you how wonderful your Cook'n sofware is. I purchased Cook'n a few years ago and just keep adding my own recipes to it. I have also purchased some of your Cook'n recipe sofware since and just love it. Your new Cook'n upgrade is great, I love the print preview, the fact that I can now sort my chapters, the advance search but most of all I love the capability to print a cook book.

Just a word to tell how much I have loved the Cook'n program, but now with the new update that I purchased I think on the first day that it was offered, you have truly made this Cook'n program the absolute best that is out there. By the way, you can thank Dell & QVC for getting me hooked on your products. I purchased my Dell laptop from QVC last year in time for Christmas. Part of that purchase was a package of software including your Cook'n with Pillsbury title. I am a cookbook collector by nature and have about two dozen hard cover cookbooks. It's been great taking the handful or so tried and true recipes from those books and putting them into my own "book".
Also, some friends of mine at work have recently begun a recipe club. It's honestly more like an old chain mail ... you send an email to 20 people who all send it to 20 people, etc., but it has resulted in me getting a couple dozen new recipes to try. I sent everyone two recipes, one of my own creations and your version of Cafe Rio dressing (yes, it's a favorite of ours!). For the Cafe Rio dressing I sent them the link to your website and I suggested they check out all of your books and even the Cook'n club. I've told so many of my friends how great it is (I love knowing the nutritional breakdown if multiplying or dividing a recipe and the grocery list features!) and hope they see the light and purchase.

You often ask for e-mails regarding your customers' impression of your software. Although I don't think I have ever written you before, I wanted to drop you a brief note.
I first encountered your Cook'n software in 1999, in an offer from H&R Block Tax Cut software. Since then, I have been a faithful user and have collected nearly all of your titles. All of my family recipes have also been added, so no need to scrounge through my mother's old recipe box any longer.

My name is Tobius Holmes, and I am a Social Worker and Caregiver for a special needs lady.
I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for the fantastic software your company has, my job is to plan this ladies entire day, and that includes meds, appointments, schedule, and the main one is meals, well I can tell you with my day being crammed packed with things to do I never had the time or energy at night to plan, and make a meal for the next week coming up, but with your software, I don't have to worry about that any more, after I bought a few books to go with the software and set up the different recipes and cookbooks, I was on easy street!
Now all I need to do is go into the software, go to the cook book I made for weekly menus, set up Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks and Supper with a few clicks of the mouse, print and I am done! This takes me no more than an hour a week to do, before I was always combing through book after book and internet sites looking for some thing for the weekly menus, then having to find the time to put it all together, no thanks!

Just a quick note here to tell you how excited I am to own this software. I have 6 kids who seem to eat all the time, so I am using the software to help plan both my meals and snack menus. I went to the store with my custom Cook'n shopping list yesterday, and it was a GREAT trip to the store. We had a change in menu plans today and I am glad to know I can just drop and drag stuff around in the Recipe Program and still be good to go!

Thank you so much for such a wonderful product! I have a state certified adult family home where I care for four mentally handicapped adults. I am a very busy women! (Plus I have four chidren and five grandchildren) Needless to say, I cook for at least seven people everyday and sometimes as many as 18. I just love this software! The more I work with it, the more excited I get; I really just want to work in it all the time!
There was an out-of-print cookbook that had a lot of really great recipes, but it kept getting misplaced. Any time one of the kids decided they wanted a specific recipe from that cookbook, I'd spend forever looking for it! Now it's preserved in my Cook'n software, and I've just told my daughter that I'm definitely buying her a copy of the "Cook'n Recipe Organizer" so she can have a copy of our favorite recipes!

From the day that my husband and I downloaded your program we have been entering our favorite recipes of 25 years of marriage. We love your program. Even our daughter has gotten into it. It is great to just enter a certain type of food or ingredient, get a recipe and then print it out. No books to sift through. I just wanted to take a minute to let you know how VERY impressed I am with the DVO product line.
I recently took up the responsibility for spearheading the collection and organization of my family's recipes. (Some are more than 100 years old.) In my quest to come up with a scalable, and easily-managed solution, I tried several other products for organizing these family treasures. I even came close to launching a Wiki, but then I recalled just how technically challenged some of my relatives are, and came to the conclusion that I needed something that would allow me to easily print recipes on the appropriately-sized cardstock.
I chanced upon your fine product this past Friday. Then, I went ahead and purchased a low-fat cookbook download from your site, and was simply floored by the fact that it integrated with the recipe organizer with one click of the mouse.

I'm loving my Cook'n. It's revolutionized my participation in my family's dinners. My girls and I did our first grocery store run using our Cook'n shopping list. It was great! Now it's fun to use the stuff I bought for each recipe and I can actually make sure I have everything I need on hand! I love my Cook'n. I am addicted to logging all my recipes on the program. I am a pack rat who has cut out recipes from magazines for the past 20 years and my recipe box is a disaster. I dont even know what recipes I have. Most I have not even made. I know I will utilize my recipes now that I have Cook'n and enjoy this so much! My friends are even calling me with ingredients in their fridge and asking me to give them a recipe they can make for dinner. So far I have put in over 100 recipes and have probably another 200 or more to go but until I finish I am hooked on this!

I just want to say I really love my cook'n so far. I got it for Christmas and with all the recipes I have it will be great. Plus it's just the 2 of us and I have a hard time cooking for 2, so I like the idea that I can cut change the serving size on recipes. That will make my husband happy. First let me tell you how much I am enjoying my Cook'n software and the Cook'n Club. I had another software program and it crashed on me. Since I was going to have to buy a new program, I checked out the competition and found Cook'n. I had major reservations about spending so much on software, especially since we are retired and money is a little tight. But it was definitely worth the cost! The club and forum give a safe venue for visiting with other cooks, checking recipes, etc. I have felt very welcomed into the group.

I have to say that so far I LOVE this program. I have always considered myself very "culinary challenged" but I'm trying to start cooking more to save money, lose weight and feed my family a healthy meal. However, I do love messing around with the computer, so this program has finally made it easy for me to plan meals and grocery lists using my computer! I especially love the fact that you can adjust servings, as I cook for a family of 5 (which usually means for 6 people given the way my teenage son eats!) and now I can easily change recipes I find to accommodate more people. I think it's a great idea and very easy to use. I've already recommended it to all my friends and family - even the dietitian I'm seeing to lose weight.

I just wanted to say that I've used the adding recipes to Cook'n and I just love the idea of being able to break down amounts so that I can prepare something for just me without having all kinds of food left over. I don't mind left-overs, but when one has them three or four times a week, one gets sick of them. I do freeze them once in awhile, if I think I can freeze them without adverse effects, but I'd rather not fill my freezer with that stuff when I need the space for my shopping perishables. I only shop once a month, big shopping, so I buy excess meat and veggies. I find I spend less money this way.

I recently purchased Cook'n software and I have to say that while I've only used it for two days so far, it seems to be the program I've been looking for. I am preparing to run a charteryacht, featuring gourmet dining, in the Virgin Islands and wanted some sort of database where I could store all of my recipes, create weekly menus tailored specifically to my guests' preferences, and then with a click of a mouse, create a precise shopping list. Since space is limited on the yacht, I don't want to over stock. I read your note in the user's manual with regard to the complexity involved in converting all of the different units of measure from all of the recipes to create a meaningful shopping list. It was that nightmare that kept me from writing my own database. Thanks for saving me from that!

I have had your CD Cook'n Deluxe for 3 years now. I kept waiting for a glitch, loss of information, etc. It is just simply wonderful. For years I had my recipes all over the place, and I looked for a way to save them. Writing them into a book, cards, and noting cookbooks were all messy, and futile.
My brother gave me a different software, and I started copying @ 35-40 recipes. It was tough work. I then looked online for other software and found yours. I chose yours because of the comments made by other users. (The complainers didn't really sound like they had a leg to stand on) So I am letting you know that I am giving a CD to my daughter for her birthday, and have told everyone at work how tremendous your software is. I am using it to store my myriad of recipes, but other people are interested in your other features. Great job. You are a genius!!!

Unfortunately, my computer crashed and I lost the registration file for the software. After reinstalling the software, I contacted the site to get my registration and was told I would have to pay another fee for my registration number. Not being happy with the software anyway, I decided to look for something different and came across your program. I love it! This is one of the BIG reasons that I bought your product. I have been trying for years to create a cookbook that can be passed on easily to my daughters and daughter-in-laws. This is about as easy as it gets, and I love the ability to create my own specialized cookbook, print on cute cards and stick them in a binder. Last Christmas, using your software, I created a cookbook containing about 200 traditional family receipes (many of which had never been written down, some at least 100 years old). Then I exported the entire cookbook to text. I opened the text file in MS Word and did massive reformatting. This could be printed to make hard copies for those family members who have no computers or want something to work from in the kitchen. I purchased the product specifically for this family project and it has worked really well.

When my son asked for me to copy some of my recipes for him I went looking for a recipe program to use. My father had just the right program that I needed and I ordered my own copy of Cook'n with Taste of Home.

I e-mailed you last year (2003), asking questions about inserting the degree mark, etc., as I was puttiing my recipe collection (part of it) on 8-1/2 x 11. For Christmas 2003 I had it all spiral-bound with plastic cover fore and aft...82 pages in all, including 1 frontispiece, 1 intro, 1 Table of Contents, and 10 colored separater sheets. The remaining 69 pages were, of course, the recipes - double-sided, so that makes...what? 138 recipes? One of the favorite features was the insertion of anecdotes for each recipe. I gave twenty copies to family and extended family members - and what a wonderful reception I received! And it was all thanks to your great Cook'n program.
Now my daughter (and her friends!) are begging me to produce another. I wouldn't dream of it without your program...and, um, must confess that I've started on "Treasures II".

Just a note to let you know how very much I love my cook'n software. My husband and I are health nuts and we eat everything low fat. I am also hypoglycemic and have to control my sugar intake. Your software is wonderful for calculating the nutrition information for recipes. I love to cook and low fat recipes are so hard to find. Now I just find a recipe that sounds good and I can change the ingredients around reducing the oils and fats and using the software I put in my recipe as I would make it and find out if it is low enough in fat for me to prepare for us. This software has been a wonderful, useful part of my everyday cooking needs. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who needs to have a very good calculator for nutrition. Wow, finally, I can't believe it. I've looked all over for a computer cookbook that I could not only add my recipes but delete the recipes I didn't want in the book. I went to a computer store here and asked and they sent me to BEST BUY, it recently opened here. I've bought a Sierra Master Cook Cooking Light but since discovered that no Sierra programs will go in my computer. So I kept on looking and I really like Cook'n. While walking around Staples, I saw the Cook'n program and started reading what it had to offer. I was fascinated with everything. So, I added it to my Christmas list, and imagine to my surprise, I received it from my husband.
I was overwhelmed and thrilled with all the recipes it had. I was excited to get started using the program. I have only a few added, but with time I can add more and throw away all my wrinkled, stained, and torn recipes I have written on paper, napkins, or whatever was available.

I just got my new CD, Cook'n with Pillsbury and love it. I like not having to put the CD in every time I want to check a recipe. I love being able to add my own recipes. I've owned Cook'n 2000 since 2000 when I retired. I began by installing old family recipes and now have over 400 recipes in my file. I am now working with a brand new computer and was faced with the problem of transferring the data. To make a long story short, I hired an "expert" to perform this deed (I'm 81). He was unsuccessful. I emailed DVO and rec'd an answer from Holly. Along with my Texas son who had put all the data on a memory stick, I used Holly's instructions and Voila! all my material was magically imported.
Thank you. I couldn't live without my Cook'n 2000. I needed a new computer because I've recently gotten into digital photography and my old machine couldn't support the new demands.

Just recently received my first newsletter and I really enjoyed it (especially the recipe entry demo) . Although I had figured out on my own most of what was covered, I learned a few interesting things about the software as well. One thing I haven't figured out yet (if it can even be done) is how to move from entering the ingredients to the bottom instruction portion without using my mouse. Is there a shortcut for that? I am also looking forward, with great anticipation, to the update that will include a working spell checker.
I purchased your Cook'n Recipe Organizer last month and am so excited to have found a program that does everything I wanted and so much more. I have been going through all my cookbooks, cooking magazines and my recipe file box and entering all our favorite recipes as well as recipes I want to try.

I'm just starting with Cook'n this evening...adding recipes and cookbooks. It is an awesome program. I chose your program over all the others for a couple of reasons. I wanted 3 things from my program:
1. to be able to enter my own recipes
2. to be able to create weekly menus from those recipes
3. to somehow have the program magically know if I make spaghetti one night and meatloaf another that the shopping list should indicate that I need to buy 2 lbs of hamburger (vs some programs that simply said 'hamburger')
Your program does it all. An added bonus (which I have yet to play with) is the 'Send to Palm' feature!! So, I'm reading your help files and learning. Keep up the good work and know it is appreciated.

I bought the Taste of Home product and have been SO EXCITED. I've been telling bunches of people about it. I was the cook for a Girls Camp last summer and while it was a wonderful experience, it took me clearly a month of work to put it together. I had to find recipes, make menus, adjust them for size, figure out how much of each ingredient to use by consolidating the recipes, and then making a shopping list. Then when camp was over everyone wanted a copy of the recipes! As you can see your software does all that for me. All I have to do is type in my menus (and input recipes if they aren't in there already) and the rest is done for me. All I need to do is shop. In fact I'm so jazzed, I'm using it for my family too and helping to manage my diet by planning in advance and making sure I shop to have all the ingredients on hand.

VERY pleased with program! I cooked aboard a fishing vessel for 17 years (Cape May, NJ), feeding 5 hungry fishermen, then 15 years in B&B business cooking breakfasts for up to 15 guests. I am now the chef at a local senior center cooking lunch for 60+ people. I was apprehensive about making the transition, but the ability to change number of servings and have the recipes adjust accordingly is heaven sent and has given me peace of mind and made my meals very successful thus far. I particularly like that you can enter ingredient descriptions before and after the ingredient name. It's very easy to enter ingredients. It's great that you can include another recipe as an ingredient. I also really love that I can transfer shopping lists and recipes to my palm pilot. How often have I been in the store, had an inspiration to make something other than planned, and can't remember what ingredients I need. I'm also looking forward to adding some of your cookbooks for additional recipes. I'll be most interested in recipes featuring natural, whole foods (vegetarian). I like the idea that you can add pictures. I have am planning to photograph some of my favorite recipes with my digital camera.

I would like to commend you for what you have done. I have been a Mastercook fan for years but any program that has no support is a dying program. Your program is a salvation for those who are serious about a cooking database. I have also been working with computers since 1953 with mechanical computers used for Naval gun fire to large mainframe computers for Unisys Corp when I retired in 1994. Therefore I know that program changes such as we talked about are not as easy as most people think.

I have used Coon N 99 since early 2000. I produced a single page, loose leaf type cookbook with recipes from the Hart family and our ancestors. My finished product is almost 3 inches thick. I keep mine in a 3 inch loose leaf binder so I can add recipes as needed. The Cook N 99 software provided an excellent means of producing my cookbook. Now all my living Hart relatives have a copy of the family's favorite recipes.
The bad news is that four or five years ago my computer "crashed" and I lost all my data in the recovery process. I recently purchased a new computer and when I tried to install the software it would not work. I contacted your company via internet and they gave me a link to download an updated version of Cook N 99. Thanks so much for your and your staff's excellent support.

This morning I decided I would work on my phone call errands to get help with problems that I had been accumulating.
I called one company that evidently out-sourced their customer service because I had to constantly ask the representative to repeat what she had said and I completed the call totally unsatisfied with the results and experience.
Then I decided to tackle my Cook'n problems. A few weeks ago I had installed the Betty Crocker Deluxe CD and after the install only had the BC deluxe books in my Cook'n. I had lost all of the recipes that I had added. 'Woe is me!' I thought. I tried a couple of times reopening the software hoping that my recipes would be back. Didn't happen. Also a few weeks ago I was organizing my computer CDs and comparing them to the list of CDs that I thought I owned. I could not find the Cook'n Italian cd that I had listed that I had purchased. After many hours of searching for the cd and not finding it, another 'Woe is me!' escaped my lips. I had studied the support section on your website and could not find any solutions for my problem. So I decided I needed to phone for help. The phone was answered quickly (first surprise), I was asked what I needed and directed to someone who could help me. Anytime I was put on hold, which was not for more than a minute or two, it was refreshing to hear the comedy and laughter...sure beats the sale pitches and your call is important to us that I usually hear while waiting. The tech who answered, listened to my problem and said he could help me and would send me an email with the solution. Then I asked him if he could check my sales history to see if I purchased the missing cd. His history did not go back far enough so he connected me to sales. The lady there checked her records and did find that I had purchased the cd...what a relief to know that it was the cd that I had lost and not my mind. She then informed me that she would email me a new copy of these recipes. WOW! I was not believing this service I was receiving. It was so refreshing!
Within a few minutes I had both emails. Using the tech email solution, I was able to find the backup and restore my lost recipes. Whew! Then I tried to reinstall the Betty Crocker Deluxe. My problems began again. Either I could not load the BC Deluxe books or I wiped out my personal recipes again. I called back and went through the same pleasant experience getting to the tech. This time he talked me through importing the recipes from the deluxe cd rather than using the setup program. While these recipes were loading, he answered several questions that I always have during the load process. After getting the deluxe recipes loaded, I hung up and was able to download the Italian recipes.
As a result of this pleasant and refreshing experience, I wanted to let you know what a great group of people you have working for you and representing your company. Thank you for a great customer experience. It is a good thing to have a superior product but even better to have a superior support team. You should be proud!

I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful product and the efficient customer service you provide to back it up.
Recently, I had two "problems", if you will, and both were taken care of expediently and without playing 1,000 questions from your customer service representatives. They were very trustworthy of me and what I told them on the telephone - which seems almost unheard of in this day and age. Most companies will not even give the customer the benefit of the doubt anymore, nor do they like to make good on their obligations to correct situations without giving the customer tons of grief.
Anyway, just wanted to pass this along to the president of the DVO company because too many times you only get to hear the negative and never enough of the positive!

Your DVO cookbook software saves me time and money. The recipes are clearly written, kitchen tested so that I know that the recipes will work and that they will taste great too. The recipes also print out beautifully and I can even print out a shopping list to take to the store. What more can you ask for? You just can't get that from a printed cookbook.

I want to recognize Holly in your Support department for the customer care she has done in helping me convert from MicroCookbook to Cook'n.
I recognized a few months back that my MicroCookbook was running out of gas and I needed to convert to another software. However, there was no simple conversion programs available due to the age of my software. I sent out E Mails to several different recipe software companies requesting assistance on converting to their software but Holly is the only support person that responded in a positive manner. She said " I can do that for your". What a relief! It saved me from starting over again rekeying my recipes.
Her attitude reminds me of my days in IBM when we made that extra effort to ensure that our customers were happy.
