A 5-Star Family Banquet

What are you going to do with all this new-found (or old-found) sauce knowledge? Why not put it to use on the most important guests in your life . . . your family. With your loved ones, plan at least a four-course menu, including some fancy sauces to serve, and select a date. Hand out cooking, table setting, and entertainment assignments in advance.

Check out table-manner videos for young children at your local library; or simply discuss good manners in advance. Be sure everyone dresses up for the occasion and treat the entire affair with the flair of importance, just as if you were really eating out at a five-star restaurant.

Set the table with your best dishes, and decorate the dining room as desired. After the courses are served, move onto the entertainment. Perhaps you've set up a dance hall in your living room, or maybe there is a stand-up comedy, melodrama, talent show, or poetry reading in the basement.

Most of all enjoy the fine food, company, and laughter of the most important people in the world.
