How to Add a New Ingredient into Cook'n
Since Brent is on the front-line of tech support, I asked him if he had any Cook'n Tips for this month's issue of the HomeCook'n Newsletter.
He receives quite a few phone calls from people who ask for information about entering their own ingredients. Most people discover that they can add new ingredients to the list by simply typing in the new ingredient name while entering a recipe. However, many people do not realize that you can add ingredients to the list by clicking Foods on the toolbar.
This is helpful when the ingredient you want to enter is a subset of one that already exists on the list. It is also helpful when you want to add nutritional information for your new ingredient.
To do so, just click Foods on the toolbar and then click the New button to add your own.
Then, you can click <new brand> if you like to enter the name of the product you would buy at the store with that food's nutritional values. You can enter your own ingredients and food products with their respective nutritional values and totally customize your Cook'n software.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions or suggestions.
Have a great day!
Dan
