Adding a New Dimension of FUN to Cookie Making
With the warm weather on its way (smile and nod), we can start to dream of and plan on picnics—picnics for all occasions and executed in lots of fun ways. FUN being the key word, here. Aren’t we all anxious to have some, after that long and deeply troubling year we’ve had?
Which brings me to the topic of cookies. They make a perfect dessert for a picnic because they are they travel so well.
And who doesn’t enjoy making cookies? Some of my best memories include cookie-making times with my children. With this idea in mind, I thought it would be interesting to see what’s available in the way of cookie cutters. We all have our favorite cookie recipes, but do you have a favorite cookie cutter? Sometimes it’s a treat to break away from the proverbial drop cookie and try out an unusual and creative cookie cutter. This can add a new dimension of FUN to the project.
Thus, upon Googling “cookie cutter,” I found lots of choices, but a site that makes the shopping organized and simpler is www.cookiecutter.com. The products are arranged alphabetically by category (baby showers, holidays, etc.), brand (Foose, for instance), type (stamping, as an example), and need (comfort grip is one choice). This makes the sleuthing fairly easy.
Below are just a few of the different kinds of cutters available, and on this site they are nicely discounted. So have fun taking your cookie-making to a new level, and let’s go on a picnic!

This small business has been an important part of the baking community since it was founded in 1993. Kansas City, Missouri-based, Cookiecutter.com has gained the reputation for outstanding products, service, and commitment to customer satisfaction. So much so that they’ve received recognition and applause from Women's Day Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens Magazine, Martha Stewart and The Pioneer Woman. Turns out, I’ve been buying their cookie cutters for years and had no idea I was supporting such a quality-based, well-run, small American business!
Here's to continued success to them, and more FUN to us, while we break away from the drop cookie and try out a unique cookie cutter for this season’s picnics!
