A few months ago, I found grilling mats for a good price at TJ Maxx. Anticipating my spring and summer months spent outside at the barbeque, I bought the pair on a whim. I have since learned more about them and gotten to work using these mats with my grilling, and even my baking!


Here is some information about them if you are new to the grilling mat world too!

• Use a grill mat for meat, vegetables, or anything you want on the grill
• You can also use them in the oven to minimize messes
• Grill mats are dishwasher safe, or you can clean with soap and water in the sink.
• The thickness of the mat is the biggest determinator for price- thicker is more expensive but not always better as they take longer to heat up
• You can store your mats flat or rolled up in a drawer
• Grill mats should always be placed 5-7 inches from the heat source, never on charcoal itself
• Make sure your grill mat is FDA certified with a nonstick surface.
• Most mats are good for temperatures between 500-600 degrees
• You can cut a large grill mat to fit your space perfectly
