Brown-Bagging Brilliance
If you'd like a little extra money for Christmas spending, cut back on the eating out and take your lunch to work for the next few weeks. Here are some smart ideas to make this such a delicious experience that you may decide to keep it up long after the holidays are past:
Place lettuce, tomato and other vegetables meant for a sandwich in a plastic baggie. This way they will remain crisp and they won't get the bread soggy. Add them to the sandwich just before eating. Smart, huh?
For a unique brown-bag sandwich, scoop out the "innards" of a hard, crusty roll and fill with leftover sausage pizza filling. This is good cold or heated through and is a great change from the traditional lettuce, ham- (or turkey-) on-rye-bread sandwich. Smart, huh?
Create breadless sandwiches for a fun change. Spread slices of ham, turkey, or pastrami with cream cheese, layer on some chopped or shredded veggies (tomato, celery, cucumber, lettuce, black olives, green pepper, etc.), then tightly roll. Secure with a toothpick. Low carb and yummy! Smart, huh?
