I love that and just wanted you to know how much we appreciate all your hard work in putting together this newsletter. Thank you very much.

Grandma's Cookin'
Notes from Folks...

Hello Dan,

Got your e-mail about your grandma's cooking. My grandmother was like that too, not using cups or teaspoons for her incredients. That was in Kentucky around Pikeville. We visited alot in Kentucky growing up. I think my mom also made biscuits so much she new the recipe in her head. I have bakery experience and cooked and baked as time went on, homemade this and that such as pizza from stratch and raisin bread, cinnamon rolls and many many cookies with my additional add-ons to the recipes. I'm from Ohio but Arizona is home sweet home. Take care

Lloyd

As we approach Memorial Day, my thoughts turn to the best cook of them all...my Grandma Oaks. She never followed a recipe or measured ingredients with a cups or tablespoons.

She just pinched salt, poured oil, and grabbed just the right amount of flour with her hands. I can still see the dust flying everywhere as my Mom tried to catch it and measure it in order to turn her delicious biscuits into a recipe that she could reproduce for my dad at home!

Raised in the backwoods of Kentucky, Grandma Oaks was our 'pistol-packin-mamma' because she carried a small handgun in her bra and she knew how to use it too.

In fact, one time during a robbery at the corner store near her home in Detroit, she opened fire on the robber from the window of her 2nd floor apartment. Ahh...the good old days!

Keeping those memories alive is important. I want my kids and grandkids to know all about Grandma Oaks, my family, and me...but writing it all down can be a daunting task.

That's why I am so pleased to tell you about the Personal Historian software. The Personal Historian breaks the seemingly monumental task into small, manageable pieces and then reconstructs it into a complete publishable document.

Personal Historian includes an extensive library of timelines, historical facts, cultural trivia, and memory triggers which give color and context to the history.

You can even bring in your word documents, photographs, and genealogical data to easily build on work that you've already done.

From start to finish, Personal Historian makes writing a life story fast, easy, and fun! Don't put off doing it any longer!
