Ant problem in your kitchen? Find out where they are coming from and block their entrance with a line of lemon juice. Safe to use, especially if you have small kids or animals in the house. Smart, huh?
To clean off the sticky residue remaining after removing labels and stickers, use a bit of cooking oil on a paper towel, rub over the sticky area and then either wipe clean or wash off. Smart, huh?
For those messy black heel marks on the floor, put on a pair of white-soled tennis shoes and twist your heel over the top of the black marks. They will vanish! Smart, huh?
Keep a small plastic bag in your can of vegetable shortening. When it comes time to grease a pan, just slip your hand in the bag, scoop out what you need and spread it on the pan. Smart, huh?

“My family loves pinto beans with dumplings. I use a can of biscuits, rolled out and quartered. I drop them into the cooked bean broth and cook as normal dumpling recipes recommend—some time with lid on and without the lid to finish with a nice crisp dumpling top.” Smart and tasty, huh?
