I have spent the last 2 hours reading your newsletter and wonderful recipes. I have already printed a whole bunch I want to try. I love them because they are using ingredients one has on hand. French Onion Soup

Serves: 6

6 onions medium, sliced
1 butter
1 tablespoon flour
2 tablespoons beef stock base plus 2 teaspoons
1 cup burgundy wine
6 cups hot water
2 beef bouillon
Dash black pepper
Dash kitchen bouquet


In a large kettle brown onions in butter until golden brown. Add flour and stir. Add rest of ingredients and simmer 30 minutes.

Serve topped with croutons and Parmesan cheese.
