Shortbread Cookies

Serves: 36


        

  Download this recipe.
1 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
3 eggs
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 teaspoons baking soda
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Beat sugar and shortening together in a large mixing bowl; add eggs and beat well. Add remaining ingredients and combine. Knead dough into a ball, roll out to 1/4-inch thickness and cut out with your favorite cookie cutter. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
