Chewy, crunchy and chocolaty describe these family-pleasing drop cookies. Because they start with cake mix, you can have homemade cookies in a hurry.
1 package (1-lb 2.25-oz) pudding-included German chocolate cake mix
1 cup margarine or butter, softened
2 eggs
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup crushed cornflakes cereal or other cereal flakes
1 cup rolled oats
1 (6-ounce) package (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips
1 to 2 tablespoons sugar
Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, combine cake mix, margarine and eggs; mix well. Add coconut, walnuts, cereal, oats and chocolate chips; mix well. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with glass dipped in sugar.
Bake at 350°F. for 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Cool 1 minute;: remove from cookie sheets.
