Uniqueness You'll Gobble Up

By Sydney Hill

Creativity is so fun to look at! Don't you love what the human mind can do? Looking up ideas for Thanksgiving treats was no let-down, either. And I was only looking for turkeys! There are waffle cone cornucopias and Reese's pilgrim hats, you name it! But I thought turkeys were just so universal.

I compiled a few ideas for you to look at. They're definitely worth trying. If you are like me though, they'd probably be eaten before a decent picture could be taken, so kudos to these people for sharing their ideas!

So here's the layout: First, there's the picture so that you're brain can be well-stunned and well-fed. Second: I'll list off the ingredients so you can add them to your Cook'n shopping list. Third: I'll list any information I think necessary in making them. However, I won't say much because I think that the pictures are pretty self-explanatory and will be ideal in the actual preparation.

OREO Turkeys

Mmmm, who doesn't love a good Oreo?

Ingredients:

  • Oreos
  • Whoppers
  • Candy Corn
  • Frosting
  • Reeses Peanut-butter cups (small)
  • Black frosting gel
  • Orange food coloring

How-to:

Use the orange food coloring to dye a little baggie of frosting to pipe on the feet. Use the black frosting gel for the pupils. Use the rest of your white frosting as the "glue".

Peanut-Butter Apple Turkeys

On the healthier side of things...

Ingredients:

  • Baking cups
  • Ritz crackers
  • Grapes
  • Orange gummy slices
  • Red gummy slices
  • Apples
  • Peanut Butter
  • Black frosting gel

How-to:

Place 4 ritz crackers in the bottom of a baking cup (helps add to height and tastes good), then fill the rest of the cup with peanut butter. Place the apples and grapes. Use the black frosting gel for the eyes. Cut the gummies for the beak and wattle.

Nutter-Butter Turkey

I was excited about these, I LOVE Nutter Butters!

Ingredients:

  • Chocolate cookies
  • Large Reeses Peanut-butter cups
  • Nutter Butters
  • Candy Corn
  • Jelly Beans
  • Frosting
  • M&Ms (mini)

How to:

Use frosting for glue

Gobbling Goblets

A festive way to serve your guests.

Ingredients:

  • Plastic cups (clear)
  • Brown, red, orange, and yellow construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Glue
  • Googly Eyes
  • Chocolate milk, chocolate candy, or chocolate pudding

How-to:

Cut out shapes to make your turkey from the construction paper. Glue googly eyes, beak, and wattle on the turkey's face. Tape the papers onto the cup. Carefully fill with anything chocolaty you desire.

Have Fun!
