A Cookbook for Everyone! A Holiday Gift Guide
It’s that time of year again! Do you have your Christmas shopping done?
There’s always someone on our list that’s hard to shop for, but can I suggest something that might help? A cookbook! I love cookbooks because it’s something that is super useful, and there are all sorts of varieties for every niche out there! I think Santa will be bringing our family a couple different cookbooks this year because we’ve been cooking so much!
I love storing my recipes on Cook’n, and I use it often for looking up recipes and finding suggestions on ways to use up particular ingredients. But a physical copy of a cookbook is nice to have on hand too- whether for browsing while eating breakfast, or for letting young eyes pick a recipe! My kids definitely prefer cookbooks with pictures, and they’re actually more likely to try different things when they can see how delicious it looks! Cookbooks are also a great gift- especially if you can find the perfect match!
Here are some cookbook suggestions for everyone in your life! I’ve included a picture and short description with each one, and all of them are linked below in the sources if you want to check them out!
For your young princess at heart: A Disney princess cookbook. My girls ADORE this cookbook. They love choosing recipes from here- and some of them are actually really good! My girls have definitely tried things they never would have chosen otherwise- because “Cinderella’s Salad” sounds so much lovelier than “green salad” ;).
For your older princess at heart: This is a beautiful party planning book, with a focus on Disney! Each page has so many beautiful ideas for recipes, set-up, and atmosphere. Perfect for your party-planner and Disney-lover!
For the young scientist: This one looks like so much fun! It’s free on Kindle Unlimited if you want to check it out. Each recipe has a scientific concept, as well as a place for your young cook to write a hypothesis and observations!
For your Harry Potter fan: What Potternerd wouldn’t just love a cookbook dedicated to that very thing? Treacle tart and butterbeer galore! This is also available on Kindle Unlimited!
For your Jane Austen fan: A Pride and Prejudice cookbook! I gave this to my mother-in-law for Mother’s Day this year. It’s a beautifully presented book, and if you’re a fan of the book, you’ll recognize so many classic quotes! It’s also the perfect book for a classics fan, or anyone that loves beautiful, refined things!
A great basic for anyone: Joanna Gaine’s cookbook is beautiful, yet simple. This has some classic recipes, as well as some more refined ones. This is a great gift for a newlywed, anyone who likes to spend time in the kitchen, or anyone who is a fan of FixerUpper ;).
For your busy young mom, or teenage chef-in-training: I love so many recipes and cookbooks from the Six Sisters, but this one in particular is so fun because it gives you 52 menu plans! Each menu plan has a main course, a side, and usually a dessert or another side or a fun drink. There are also so many fun ideas sprinkled throughout. And there’s pictures for each recipe! My favorite thing! I also love using this with my kids to help them learn how to plan a menu, and which recipes pair well together.
For your Luke and Leia fans: We all know a Star Wars fanatic, right? How about a cookbook with recipes straight from the galaxy?
For your friend who loves Friends: I don’t know if there is a more popular TV show- and of course there is a cookbook to go with it! I’m not super familiar with the show itself, but I can bet that anyone who loves it would love this cookbook!
For your Dungeons and Dragons players: Know someone who is really into Dungeons and Dragons? They would die over this one! The artwork alone is gorgeous! And with recipes like “Elven Bread” and a section labeled “Human Cuisine”, this definitely looks promising!
For your Lord of the Rings fans: Of course, a list of geeky cookbooks wouldn’t be complete without some hobbits thrown in there, right? I love the name of this cookbook, and it’s even got a chapter called “Second Breakfast” and “Elevenses”. It’s everything you’d expect a hobbit cookbook to be- full of recipes that are both hearty and whimsical- comfort food at it’s finest! This is another one available on Kindle Unlimited if you want to check it out!
Which of these cookbooks do you personally love? Which ones would make perfect gifts for your loved ones? I’d love to hear!!
I know my brother would love the Dungeons and Dragons cookbook, and I personally would love the Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, or Lord of the Rings books! And of course, Magnolia Table;) How about you? Share with us below!
