6 Easy Make-Ahead Christmas Breakfast Ideas
If you’ve been busy as can be and haven’t given too much thought to what you are going to make for Christmas breakfast, look no further! Today I’ve got quite a little roundup of ideas for super easy Christmas breakfast ideas! I have six ideas for you--sometimes I can get easily overwhelmed with lists that have like 100 ideas so I scrounged plenty of lists and shared what I thought were some of the very best. And the best part is that they are make-ahead friendly so you don’t have to wake up super early to get breakfast ready before all the exciting hullabaloo. Let’s get right to it!
1. Festive Shaped Pancakes
This one is a real crowd pleaser and couldn’t be easier for you to whip up. Pour your pancake batter into a squeeze bottle and pour the batter onto a hot griddle, making shapes like snowflakes, snowmen, Santa Clause, or reindeer. Get creative and add color by adding chocolate chips for Santa’s eyes and mouth, strawberries or raspberries for his hat and whipped cream for the furry white trim of his hat.
2. Cinnamon Rolls
Make your favorite cinnamon rolls ahead of time--my favorite recipe is the maple cinnamon rolls from The Pioneer Woman. They really do taste better the next day so these are the perfect thing to make ahead. I also love the idea of a cinnamon roll recipe with an orange glaze--that sounds so perfect Christmasey to me with the citrus and spices!
3. Overnight French Toast Casserole
We all love French toast, but nobody has time to flip each piece to fry both sides all morning. Skip all that fuss and dump all the ingredients in a casserole dish the night before and let the oven do its magic while the kiddos are opening presents the next morning. One pan can feed a whole crowd!
4. Red Velvet Waffles
You probably wouldn’t find me making French toast from scratch on Christmas morning, but waffles, especially when they are the delicious red velvet kind, I would totally do! There is a recipe from The Spruce Eats you could check out that has cream cheese icing and are packed with chocolate chips that sound incredible!
5. Berry Baked Oatmeal
Making a baked oatmeal is kind of like making a fruit crisp for breakfast--what’s not to love about that? A crunch nutty topping gives it irresistible crunch and texture.
6. Frittata
Egg frittatas are such an easy and delicious breakfast idea for Christmas morning. They cook up in under 30 minutes and are a fresh, savory breath of fresh air with all the holiday goodies you’ve been eating!
It may be just me, but I think pairing a frittata (or the super easy eggs benedict casserole in my other article this week) with something sweet like the cinnamon rolls or french toast casserole would be the perfect combo, if you wanna go big! And who doesn’t love to go big on Christmas?
Is your family more about having a nice Christmas dinner or breakfast (or both!)? Do you already know what you will be having on your beloved Christmas morning this year? Please share thoughts in the comments below. And please have the most merry Christmas and the happiest holidays from all of us here at Cook’n!
