Oaks Family Christmas

The Oaks Family Christmas party was super fun. My brother, Brian, found one of the original versions of Cook'n from the early 1990's in his garage. He and his wife framed it and gave it to me as a gift. Woohoo! How cool is that? I'm hoping to install it on an old computer so I can make a demo video of it. I think it would be fun to see how far we've come!

The whole gang was here...except for Carson who is serving a mission in Guatemala right now.

My sister, Teri, and her husband made catapults for all the kids for Christmas. We had a super fun time trying to knock down the other team's cups.

At Kathy's Family's Christmas party, we had a talent show in which my son, Danny, sang a song that he wrote! What do you think?

My nephew, Ben Boothe, and his daughters performed a beautiful number. What talent!

Santa came! I know him!!! :)

Last Sunday we made Gingerbread houses.

And, last Saturday, my son, Andan and I went to the BYU vs. SMU Bowl game in Albuquerque, New Mexico! Since the head coach, Kalani Sitake, is my nephew (he married my niece and they lived in our basement their first year of marriage so we are super close), we got to hang with the team at the hotel. This is us at breakfast.

It was pretty darn cold so I wore my coyote hat cuz it's super warm. Apparently, the ESPN camera man thought it was interesting because he put the camera on me for several seconds at the start of the game. My phone LIT UP with text messages from family and friends who texted to say that they saw me on TV. I guess you could say...that I'm famous now. ;)

Andan was Mike Wazowski with the sticker in front of his face. :)

BYU lead by a touchdown but with 14 seconds left in the game...but SMU scored! Oh no!!!! Are you kidding me?!!

However, instead of kicking the extra point and sending the game to over-time, SMU decided to go for the two point conversion and the win! Fortunately, they failed on the attempt so BYU won. Yay!! Way to go Kalani!!!

In the press conference after the game, they asked BYU's quarterback how he felt during that last play standing on the sidelines. He said "I said a little prayer...well...not really a prayer. I just said 'Heavenly Father...'" Kalani laughed and said "...that's a real prayer!" Haha. You gotta love these guys!!

We went skiing yesterday and I didn't die...so that was good!

Needless to say, it has been an eventful week! And, tomorrow is Christmas Eve. From our family to yours...we hope you have the most wonderful Christmas ever.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
