Get Your Kitchen Spring Cleaning Done With This List!
Spring cleaning has been in full swing at my house the past couple weeks. There is something about spring that just makes you want to open the windows and scrub everything until it’s bright and shiny! Admittedly, some years I’m better than others. Some years my spring cleaning looks no different than the rest of the year, and some years my spring cleaning is an intense house makeover!
I love having a list when working through things, especially cleaning. When I just clean based off what I can see with my eyes when I initially walk into a room, I know I’m missing things. We don’t always think about cleaning the gunk we can’t easily see. Having a list helps me stay focused and ensures I don’t forget anything!
- Wipe down cabinets. Use lemon oil to give them a good shine!
- Wipe down the insides of cupboards and drawers.
- Reorganize drawers as needed.
- Really scrub down the kitchen sink! Give it a good polish!
- Deep clean floor. Not just a typical mopping job, but a get down on your hands and knee and scrub it ‘til it shines job! Use q-tips to get corners and hard to reach places.
- Scrub all vents, and vacuum them out with a shop vac.
- Clean behind and underneath the stove and fridge.
- Do a deep cleaning inside the fridge. Pull out drawers and shelves and give them a thorough scrubbing!
- Touch up any nicks in the walls.
- Wipe down the windows.
- Dust off the blinds/curtains.
- Wipe out the window tracks. Q-tips and a rag with a butter knife work wonders at getting those little crevices!
- Clean the inside of your oven.
- Scrub the stovetop down until it sparkles!
- Deep clean the microwave.
- Dust off the tops of your cabinets, if applicable.
- Clean out light fixtures.
- Degrease and clean the cabinets, ceiling, and anything else that may be affected by your stovetop cooking. Even under the cabinets start looking pretty scary without regular cleaning. You’d be surprised what collects on the surfaces surrounding your stove!
- Reorganize the pantry. Take time to think through if anything should be arranged differently. If you have the budget for it, buy can-rotating shelves or containers to help minimize the clutter and help things look neat and organized!
- Add a vase of fresh flowers for good measure! While you’re at it, this is a perfect time to reassess the decor of your kitchen. Would you like to change up the kitchen drapes? Does the artwork need to be updated? Does the decor on top of your cabinets need an uplift? This is obviously not necessary, but this is a great time to make any changes that you’ve been wanting!
What would you add to this list? What do you like to clean in your kitchen specifically?
